Join us for a fun, beginner-friendly two-hour workshop that makes Artificial Intelligence (AI) easy to understand! In the first 40 minutes, we will explore AI's history, from ancient Greek ideas and pioneers like Alan Turing, to its future potential to transform healthcare, finance, and transportation
. We will also discuss important ethical concerns regarding the technology, such as privacy, job displacement, and bias. Next, a 40-minute session will simplify the core domains of AI. We will cover early rule-based systems that use if-then statements to make decisions, and modern machine learning that lets computers learn directly from data. You will also learn about deep learning, which uses neural networks to mimic the human brain, plus how AI uses Natural Language Processing to communicate, Computer Vision to see, and Speech Recognition to understand our voices. Afterward, we will hold a 20-minute Q&A period where you can ask anything you are curious about. Finally, we will wrap up with a fun 10-question quiz in the last 20 minutes to test your new knowledge! No technical background is needed to join.
